Intro
Introduction
Working from my studio in North West London, I offer a range of introduction and advanced classes using either metal clay (PMC and Art Clay Silver) polymer clay (Fimo and Sculpey-Premo) or both together.
These are available as ‘One to One’ sessions or as small groups (up to 3 people) and are booked on a ‘best suitable date for all' basis . One to One classes are the fastest and most flexible way to learn and progress. They focus on helping you to discover and fulfil your own individual creative needs, personal interests and aspirations. At your own speed.

Introduction to Metal clay- 1 day
Covers all the techniques you need to get started and continue producing beautiful work at home
This beginners class is for anyone who is new to working with metal clay and would like to spend an exciting day experimenting and learning new techniques.
Techniques covered in this class include:
- Rolling out the clay to a consistent thickness
- Texturing and cutting out shapes
- Sanding, polishing and drilling
- Torch firing and basics
- Basic stone setting
- Adding multiple layers of clay
and much more.
Costs and what's included
The class includes 20 grams of metal clay ( eg. enougth to make a pendant and pair of earrings) handout out notes, use of all tools and other materials an a lovely lovely lunch! We start at 10.30 til approx 4.30.

Poly intro
Introduction to polymer clay- 1 or 2 days
Polymer clay is a fantastic material and perfectly affordable for the current economic climate.
It is more commonly know as Fimo or Sculpey. In this class we will cover all the basics of working with polymer clay to make beads and finished pieces of jewellery.
Topics and area covered include:
- Conditioning the clay
- Different types of millifirori cane work using balck and white and colour
- Forming different bead shapes , round, bicones, swirls, tube, heats and teardrops
- Making blends and mixing colours
-Surface designs- image transfers, using giding waxes, gold leaf, metallic powders etc
- Using specialist tools and resources
- Baking
- Sanding and Buffing
Working with polymer clay at home after the class, is simple and easy as there are not many tools or resources needed to continue experimenting and creating beautiful work.

Combo met and pol
Metal clay and polymer clay combo (2 days)
Combine the two to produce truly original results (my personal favourite) Polymer clay is a fantastic and economical way to include colour into your silver jewellery. We look at several ways to create bezel settings using metal clay and them explore a range of different polymer clay inlays from image transfer to textures, and millefiori cane work. A fun and challenging opportunity to put your own creative stamp on your jewellery.

Stone setting into metal clay
Stones add a great sparkle and shine your metal clay creations. We explore which are the best stones to use, how to make paste and syringe bezels as well as using fine silver wire to create tabs and prongs.

silver beads
Beautiful beads
We cover lots of different ideas for making beads from hand modelled small spacer beads, tube and lentil shapes to different kinds of armatures used for making larger hollow form beads. These are a beautiful addition to your polymer or glass beaded jewellery

Lord of the rings
Lord ( or Lady) of the Rings
We look at design and sizing taking the shrinkage factor into account and consider the various ways on making a ring on a ring mandrel and a wrap around ring using textures, and fire in place stones.
